At today’s CES keynote, Steve Ballmer announced that Kinect has sold 8m units in the first 60 days of being on sale. That’s a massive increase on the 2.5m that the Kinect had sold back at the end of November, a month after launch. To put it in perspective, these Kinect sales figures mean that Kinect has outsold the iPad.

Lego video game ahoy! Disney Interactive Studios and TT Games are embarking on a voyage to create another Lego Video Game: Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game. The game will use storylines and characters from the first three films, plus the upcoming film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Kinect trumps Move!

Yesterday we asked you which you thought was better, Kinect or Move. Despite Move having a lot more time in the wild than Kinect, the full body motion controll system trumped it, pipping Move to the post by 10 per cent, with 51 per cent to Move’s 41 per cent. The rest of you said that both Move and Kinect were no good. Ouch.

This morning, Steve Ballmer told a crowded lecture theatre at LSE that he was more excited about Kinect than Windows Phone 7, the latter of which is launching next week. The Kinect is further off, but Ballmer certainly seems to want to up the ante with the hype for the Kinect, even if you do need to tidy up for it to work properly.
