You might not have noticed, but Microsoft and its subsidiaries have been getting very cosy with the iPhone in recent weeks. First there was that HTML5 website designed to make your iPhone look like it was running Windows Phone. Then there was the My Xbox Live app, which let you tit about with your avatar on your iPhone.

But the most interesting app isn’t out until December 10: called ATLAS, it’s a set of maps cum tactical display on your smartphone which will give you a genuine advantage in Halo: Reach multiplayer games. And it’s headed to Windows Phone, Android, and iPhone. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that this will change the face of gaming, and Xbox Live, beloved by millions, in particular. It might even ruin it.

Lovefilm’s movie streaming biz has been growing steadily since Amazon decided to buy it up. The Lovefilm Instant service is now available on PCs, PS3, iPads and smart TVs, but there’s one prime candidate that’s always been missing: The Xbox 360. Sonic CD to be reborn on Xbox Live

We’ve been dreaming of old games since we heard those rumours of a Road Rash revival, so it’s exciting to hear that Sonic CD is headed to Xbox Live Arcade. The classic but often forgotten Sonic title popped up on a list of games set to go on show at the Penny Arcade Expo next week. Sure we liked Sonic 4 but sometimes we just want to see the hedgehog in his 16-bit prime.

Major Nelson, Xbox promoter-in-chief, revealed the list. It includes plenty of things you’d expect like Gears of War 3 and Forza 4 but near the end lurks the uannounced Sonic CD Xbox Live Arcade port.

Sega PR is keeping shctum about the game right now but has promised more information soon. In the meantime, click through to bop along with the awesome Sonic CD theme tune. Sing along with us: “Sonic boom! Sonic boom!”…

Rockstar has made Red Dead Redemption the game that just keeps giving. It’s confirmed that a new batch of free Red Dead Redemption DLC will mosey onto Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network in September.

The Myths and Mavericks bonus pack will feature fan-favourite multiplayer characters like Landon Ricketts (that’s the grizzled guy in the picture above) and add new multiplayer locations to Death Match, Grab The Bag and Gang matches as well as other online modes. Our original Red Dead Redemption multiplayer review pondered whether the game was just too big and still it’s getting bigger!
