It’s mere hours until Apple wows crowds with the hugely-anticipated 3G iPhone, but the latest from the rumour mill is that party-poopers Microsoft plan on gatecrashing the party…with a Blu-Ray-enabled Xbox 360.

Xporter boosts your console’s storage
Filling up your Xbox 360 or PS3 hard drive already? You could replace it with a bigger version, but if you don’t fancy the extra cost/hassle Iomega has another option: its new Media Xporter offers an extra 160GB of storage for movies, photos and music. The drive is compact and doesn’t require any external power, getting all the juice it needs from USB 2.0, so you can easily take it round a mate’s house too. Of course, being an external FAT32 hard drive it’ll also work with PCs and Macs - it’s just the size and lack of a power supply that make it super-suitable for consoles.

GTA IV to be biggest game release ever?
People are always banging on about the games industry being as big as Hollywood, and the 29th April launch of Grand Theft Auto IV looks set to be the clearest ever indicator of that. Variety magazine is predicting that GTA IV will pull in a massive $400m (£200m) worth of sales in its first week, which would make it the biggest game launch in history - and possibly the biggest ever launch for a single entertainment product.
