Given the success of Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1, it’s hardly a surprise that the functionally named Map Pack 2 isn’t far behind it. In fact, it’s out tomorrow! Call of Duty: World at War’s new set of DLC is going down a storm on Xbox LIVE and PSN – publisher Activision reports that it has scored over 1 million downloads for the blandly named Map Pack 1, while Microsoft confirmed that the update has set a new first week download record.
Call of Duty: World at War is to receive some new downloadable content in the form of a multiplayer map pack to be released in March.
Call Of Duty: World At War is getting fire from all sides currently. The game’s current Internet trailer has been called “tasteless” for superimposing heavy rock and “rear-window sticker” phrases over visceral and shocking images of WWII action. And to top that off, Infinity Ward, makers of the last Call Of Duty game, Modern Warfare, have hit back at Treyarch, developers of World At War, and Activision, for constantly comparing the two games.
While for children, this Halloween seems to be all about either pirates or skeletons, for gamers the day is set to be a brain-eating feast of zombies.
Even we admit getting too far ahead of ourselves with a possible science fiction Call of Duty, since we still have the next installment to take care of first. Call of Duty 5, otherwise known as World at War will feature Wii Zapper specific controls.
