In order to keep the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) hardware lean and mean so it’s cheap enough for, well, every child, the XO runs the Sugar flavour of Linux. That’s not stopped Microsoft try to cram XP on there in a way not unalike the Ugly Sisters trying to squeeze their hoofing great clod hoppers into Cinderella’s slippers.

It’s the dinky laptop that’s have more makeovers than Madonna, and weighs about the same, and Asus’s Eee PC just got another refresh. It’s titchy frame is now available in blue, green and pink hues. Available in Japan, wrapped around the Windows XP toting versions of the Eee, there’s no word on when the new shades will reach these shores. We can only hope it’s soon. Very soon indeed.
