It’s a viddy on demand service for customers on all your screens, and we’ve been trying it out recently to see how it fares against established IPTV offerings. Virgin Trains has launched a viral advertising campaign, which is supposed to be a thrilling mix of zeitgeisty hot topics, namely Google Maps and zombies. but it won’t go viral, because it is far too sinister. The blurb runs more terrifying than any 3D gore-fest: “Brave zombie-rescuers will be catapulted onto any UK street, armed with nothing more than a Virgin Trains ticket machine.” It is some dystopian nightmare where Virgin is making us wield the ticket machine.
