Gamers are spoiled for choice this Christmas. Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Arkham City, Gears Of War 3; the list goes on. If the holidays for you are, like me, about sitting at home, blazing through video games and eating chocolate, you really should play all these games. But not before you’ve completed Rayman Origins.
This is it. Assassin’s Creed Revelations, released today on Xbox 360 and PS3, is debonair Italian Ezio Auditore’s last outing. Finito. The tale of the dandy handy with a blade may be coming to an end, but it’s far from over for the blockbuster franchise. Where does the game’s lead writer want to go next? Ireland.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the latest instalment in Ubisoft’s stealth and stab franchise is out today, but before you shell out for it on your console of choice, take a gander at this bargain. OnLive, the fantastic game streaming service, is offering a free console if you buy the game through its network.
Ubisoft has revealed a new Assassin’s Creed: Revelations trailer at Gamescom putting Ezio and Altair in a splitscreen faceoff. The gameplay video shows the pair doiling out death to a dubstep soundtrack and gives a good idea of how fast-paced the finished title will be.
It’s definitely worth a watch while we wait to get our hands on the game with the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations multiplayer beta which opens next month. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is set to be officially released on November 15.
Take a look at the trailer after the break and let us know what you think of it in the comments. We spotted some interesting clues in the last Assassin’s Creed: Revelations trailer, so who knows what secrets this one might be hiding…
If you were hoping to get in on the Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer beta kicking off next month we hope you own a PlayStation 3. The game’s creator, Ubisoft, has just come forward to confirm the multiplayer beta will be a PS3 exclusive. The beta will available first to PlayStation Plus and Uplay members between September 3rd and 8th followed by all PS3 owners on September 9th.
It was one of the biggest titles announced during the Nintendo 3DS launch back at E3 2010 but it Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy has lived up to its title and been lost for good. In an interview with Joystiq, Darby McDevitt, the lead writer for the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, explains that the concept of the Assassin’s Creed 3DS game now forms the foundation for that title.
He says: “You may have heard of the game ‘Lost Legacy’ for the 3DS. It was announced but kind of morphed into this idea.” So while Ubisoft previously predicted that 3D games would make up 50% of releases by 2012, it doesn’t seem to be making the Nintendo 3DS a priority. Of course, though Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy has been canned, that doesn’t mean the company won’t release another handheld adventure in the future.
