We’re just over three months away from getting out hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and while PS3, Xbox 360 and PC players have all been satiated with news, Wii owners have been waiting for word on their version. Now we’ve got it. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the Wii is being handled by Treyarch.

The news was revealed by Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling on the One of Swords podcast. He bigged up the studio’s previous experience porting its own work on Call of Duty: Black Ops to the Wii as an example of its ability to translate warfare to the world of the Wiimote. No other details on the Call of Duty: Modern Wafare 3 Wii version have been revealed yet.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is the seventh installment of the record-breaking Call of Duty series. Developed by Treyarch, the developer behind hit Call of Duty: World At War, Black Ops is set across various locations including Vietnam and Cuba in a story described as the most emotional in the series yet. Call of Duty: Black Ops features new multiplayer modes such as One in the Chamber, where each player has one bullet in their pistol. Another new multiplayer addition is CoD Points, an in-game currency letting players buy new weapons and attachments. Continuously updated.

Call Of Duty Black Ops lands next month, but Treyarch’s eagerly awaited shooter has had its achievement list leaked online already. A Treyarch staffer has confirmed it’s real on Twitter, so if you want to see just how you’ll be racking up Gamerscore in Call Of Duty Black Ops, take a peek at the link below, but be warned, there are spoilers.

Our favourite? “I hate monkeys”, which requires you to shoot seven monkeys in ten seconds  – the sort of animal slaughter that would make even Lara Croft become a vegan. Well, at least you’re not killing US soldiers, we guess.

First Person Shooters are already under tabloid scrutiny after the decision to allow play as the Taliban in Medal of Honor drew criticism from the UK’s Defence Secretary. Call of Duty: Black Ops Developers Treyarch were asked if they had anything planned for their game that would provoke similar controversy. “Controversial is such a subjective term,” was the response.
