Asus Eee Pad Slider moves one step closer to launch, landing page now live!The first Android Honeycomb tablet with a built-in hardware slide-out QWERTY keyboard is inching closer to its release. This morning, Acer launched a landing page for its Eee Pad Slider SL101 with a brief device summary and an accompanying photo gallery. The summary lists Android 3.1 Honeycomb, but seeing as the Transformer just landed 3.2, we’ve got our fingers crossed the Slider will ship with the latest build.

Since the Sony Android tablets were first revealed in April, we’ve had a series of teaser videos starring a cute alabaster couple making their way through curious contraptions. Now we’re up to the forth and we’re still waiting for some real details on specs. All we know so far is that both will run Android Honeycomb and that the Sony S2 will have two 5.5in 1024×480 displays and a Tegra 2 processor while the Sony S1 will be a similarly specced 9.4in slate.

You can see the latest Sony Android tablets teaser video, which Sony says is the penultimate episode, after the break. This time the characters move through a mechanism with marbles whizzing above them and bubbles floating around them to seemingly promote the tablets ability to fling videos and photos onto your HD TV. Asus Eee Pad Slider spotted on Amazon Germany, release date still a mysteryOriginally scheduled to launch in May, the Asus Eee Pad Slider has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated Android Honeycomb tablets to date. Thanks to an almost a cult-like following, the sliding slate seems destined to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer.

Over on Amazon Germany, the Eee Pad Slider is now listed as coming soon. Release date and pricing information remains a mystery, but a listing on Amazon is always a good sign. Word on the street is the slate will retail for a price somewhere in the range of $500-$800 (£304-£486).
