Just a couple of hours ago, Steve Jobs announced that he’d be taking some time off for medical leave, and Tim Cook would be standing in to oversee the day to day operations of Apple. Despite the fact that Jobs will remain as CEO, stocks have already taken a hit, with shareholders gambling against Apple without Jobs at the helm.

This story started out as a post about the Advent Vega being back in stock just in time for Christmas, after selling out two lots of stock online. But before we could finish writing the story, it sold out again. That’s at least the third batch of stock to go. The first batch of the Advent Vega lasted just a couple of hours, and the second not much longer than that. Since selling out the Advent Vega has been popping up on eBay for over £100 more than the RRP, with some selling for as much as £390. Stock is coming and going, but doesn’t stay available for more than a couple of hours.

Yesterday we asked how many of you managed to nab an Advent Vega in the brief window it was available online at Dixons, Currys and PC World on Friday. The number of you who actually managed to get your hands on an Advent Vega, or at least place an order was smaller than we were expecting. Only 13.6 per cent of you managed to get an Advent Vega, while the other 86.4 were left empty handed. More stock is due to arrive later this week, as we reported yesterday, but whether this second batch will be enough to fulfil demand is another question.
This morning we’ve had an update on Advent Vega stock, which sold out just a couple of hours after going on sale.
