At today’s Windows Phone 7 launch, Microsoft has announced that EA will be on Windows Phone 7, including the Sims. EA will be integrated into the gaming hub, and available through Xbox Live.

The history of computer game spin-off movies is hardly stellar (anyone remember the Super Mario Bros movie with Bob Hoskins?) but it looks like Will Wright’s Spore is set to hit the silver screen.
The Sims 3, due out on 5 June, has already been leaked onto the Internet. And analysis of its download popularity from peer-to-peer file sharing sites shows that it is suffering worse piracy even than recent EA title Spore.
The Sims 3 has escaped the Electronic Arts compound and is now spreading across Bit Torrent networks, a full two weeks before the game was due to hit shelves. Although no stranger to piracy, it’s a poignant blow for EA, which had already promised to slacken its invasive DRM policies after the outcry, and resulting mass piracy, that tarnished the launch of Spore last year.
Blimey, The Sims 3 for iPhone is looking tasty indeed. Despite already being the world’s most successful games franchise, EA Mobile hasn’t held back on the visuals for its iPhone outing; there are no 2D isometric viewpoints here, just full-blown 3D goodness.
Will Wright’s been a busy man. If Spore’s imminent release for the iPhone wasn’t exciting enough, it now turns out that sandbox favourite SimCity and sequel to just about the biggest selling game ever, The Sims 3, are headed the way of the touchscreen. Read more
