Palm PrePalm Pre is off to an encouraging start and is putting the company in healthier financial straights, but right now the handset still has one problem – its Palm App Catalog is still a little thin on, well, apps. That’s because Palm has been dragging its heels over the webOS Mojo SDK, which will finally allow anyone with a knowledge of programming to make their own Palm Pre apps. Fortunately for those eager to start testing the limits of Palm’s new webOS, a version of the Mojo SDK has been leaked onto the internet.

Palm PrePalm Pre has already created a stir in smartphone fields, but if it’s ever going to have the faintest chance of catching up with Apple, it’s going to need an awful lot more applications under its belt. Despite the openness of the Palm Pre webOS platform, the depressingly small number of webOS apps right now is due to the lack of webOS SDK (software development kit) which helps mobile developers on their way to creating top notch software.
