Just because Google says that your tablet’s life expectancy is shorter than you had planned doesn’t mean you’ll stop a determined group of developers. Spacemoose1 over at XDA has just released a video showing off what looks to be the early stages of Android 3.0 Honeycomb, gracing the seven-inch display of his legacy Galaxy Tab.

Amidst the onslaught of iPad 2 news and reviews, it’s time to break ground in the Android department. According to leaked images from droid-life, the WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab will be released on April 4th and priced at $399. Unfortunately it appears Android 2.2 Froyo is still in tow and there’s no word on a Honeycomb upgrade date.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab family is set to get another member. The 7in Samsung Galaxy Tab is already with us and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is on the way but a third Android tablet is reportedly on the cards – a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9in model.

Looks like iPhone 5 production well on the way. That’s according to sources in South Korea. Samsung factories are working overtime with reports suggesting that Samsung has agreed to “quadruple monthly shipments of [processors] to Apple”. That means 50% of Samsung production capacity is dedicated to pumping out iPhone 5 Apple A5 chips and the firm is also said to be planning a new $3.6bn plant in Austin, Texas to ensure it can ship more mobile processors to Apple. The iPhone 5 A5 chip is said to be similar but not identical to the processors inside the Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Samsung Galaxy Player.

Powered by Android 2.2 Froyo, the Samsung Galaxy Tab will drop the 3G radios in favor of a WiFi-only edition early this year. According to a press release from Samsung Mobile, the Galaxy Tab WiFi edition will be arriving in the US in the first quarter of 2011.
