The ongoing battle between Apple and Samsung which recently saw the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned from sale in the EU has taken another interesting twist. Dutch title, Webwereld.nl, claims Apple submitted an image that incorrectly compares the iPad 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 as part of the lawsuit.

Since the crux of Apple’s case is that Samsung copied the look and feel of the iPad for its Samsung Galaxy Tab line, the accusation that the evidence is incorrect could have serious ramifications. Read on to take a look at the Dutch detective work…

Samsung Galaxy 8.9 UK release date revealed

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is out in the UK today but if you’re angling for a slighter smaller slate, news of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has dropped today too.

It’s been listed on Amazon with a UK release date of August 12. That means you should be able to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 next week for £605. Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 video to help you make your mind up.

Samsung Galaxy Tab launch not delayed in the land down under

Yesterday media reports suggested Apple’s lawsuit against Samsung would delay the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch in Australia. Today Samsung has come forward to deny these claims. According to the manufacturer, the reports were premature and hold no merit.

Galaxy Tab sales in the land down under will begin later this month. Here’s the official word from Kevin Jeong, the company’s spokesman, “the Galaxy Tab 10.1 model for the Australian market will be launched in August as planned”. Read more

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 UK launch: get it early from PC World

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is officially touching down in the UK on August 4 but if you want to jump the queue and nab the Wi-Fi only model early, you can get it the day before from PC World. The store, along with its fellow Dixons-owned stablemate Currys, has an exclusive on the Wi-Fi only model will have stock ready to sell from 5pm on August 3.

Reg Hardware reports that the PC World store on London’s Tottenham Court Road will have its stash of new Samsung slates ready then and we’d expect others stores to be similarly prepared. Android 3.2 Honeycomb update incoming: Get ready for even more Android tablets

The evolution of Android Honeycomb has been both smooth and quick. After launching version 3.0 on March 27th, it took less than two months for the 3.1 update to hit the Motorola Xoom. The next step, Android Honeycomb 3.2, is expected within a matter of days, but it will not be as major and overhaul as 3.1. Instead, its two biggest features will open the flood gates to even more Android tablets.

HTC Flyer owners, prepare to celebrate. The two blockbuster features included in Android 3.2 Honeycomb are support for Qualcomm processors and 7-inch displays. Gone are the days of manufacturers being limited to Tegra 2 processors and 10.1-inch displays. But does this mean we’ll see Snapdragon versions of existing tablets like the Xoom and Galaxy Tab 10.1?

Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi price cut may confirm lackluster sales

That’s likely to irk Android tablet fans hoping to get their hands on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the unsullied version of Android Honeycomb onboard. Hopefully some of the new features detailed after the break will ease their pain…
