Yes, Final Fantasy 13 isn’t out yet, but that’s not stopped Square Enix from going right on ahead and announcing the next one, Final Fantasy 14. This time, it’s online, and only available on the PS3 when it launches next year.
Mass Effect 2 just got outed in a big way at E3, with an extended trailer and new screens breaking loose. Is John Shepard really dead? It doesn’t look like it just yet at any rate.
Final Fantasy XIII could be even further delayed, a Square Enix spokesperson has admitted. The game had already been pushed back out of 2009. But now, answering questions from Japanese financial reporters, a Square Enix representative refused to confirm that the game would even ship in Japan before the end of the financial year.
Mass Effect 2 received an unexpected twist earlier in the year when a teaser video strongly implied that the gender-swapping series star, Commander Shepard, was ‘Killed in Action’. That surprising revelation sent a shockwave through the Mass Effect community, who were rightly bemused by their hero being ignominiously dispatched in the space (no pun intended) between the two main games.
