Sony hasn’t revealed an official PlayStation Vita release date yet, preferring to point to a vague “end of 2011″ launch window. However, over the weekend, a Blockbuster flyer popped up online with a date plastered across it. In a list of future releases including Batman Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, it suggests the handheld will hit the UK on Friday 28 October.

Blockbuster has not commented on the veracity of the leaflet while Sony simply told IGN that the PlayStation Vita is due for a “phased global release” in the run up to Christmas. That October date would definitely fit with that plan and Sony has a history of not being able to keep launch dates secret so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the PlayStation Vita arrive as a pre-Halloween treat. If it does land then, will you be in line to get one? Hit the headline and jump into the comments to let us know.
