The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, more commonly referred to as the Playstation Phone, has broken cover again, this time thanks to some leaked marketing materials. It’s been spotted in an official display stand, as well as in its first-ever commercial. The latter is most interesting: Sony seems to be ripping Android apart. Sony Ericsson, the joint venture between Japan’s Sony and Sweden’s Ericsson, has just reported its fourth quarter 2010 financial results. On the recovery were profits, reportedly $10.7 million — a significant improvement to the $225 million net loss reported in the year-ago period. On the decline were handset shipments, falling to 11.2 units — down 23 percent from the 14.6 million units posted in the fourth quarter of 2009.
