Our insatiable demand for the fresh new Nintendo 3DS in the US and the UK pales in comparison to our friends from Japan. According to the latest Japanese sales data, the Sony PSP has managed to outsell Nintendo’s 3D creation for the second week in a row. Unlike last week’s figures which tallied all PSP sales, this week it only took sales of the PSP-3000 to eclipse the 3DS.

Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP will most likely release in the UK on 12 June. MTV, Harmonix and Electronic Arts have announced a global release “beginning 9 June”. As games traditionally release on a Friday in the UK, that should see Rock Band Unplugged available 12 June.
PSP-3000 owners who want a convenient workaround for the system’s tightened security are going to have to keep sighting tight. Datel, makers of the Lite Blue Tool – a special battery that puts the PSP into service mode – have removed the devices from their website, revealing that the company faces legal action by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

Just a few days ago we were crying into our old-gen PSP’s at the news the new PSP 3000’s battery life would be decreased. But now Sony’s John Koller, who started it all says it’s not true.
PSP 3000 fanciers will be finding themselves with a little less game time when they get their hands on it. It might have a shiny new screen but as a result will suffer from reduced battery power, admits Sony.
