Optoma has announced two new projectors for home cinema enthusiasts. The Optoma HD20 and ThemeScene HD86 offer full 1080p HD resolutions with DLP technology; the HD20 scores an industry first with its price point being set below £900. At the same time, Optoma has confirmed its plans to adopt 3D technology, with a prototype model on display at the CEDIA event in London.

Home cinema nuts now have another option when choosing a projector – Sony has just launched a new Bravia VPL-VW80 model with a big ol’ 1920 x 1080 resolution and mammoth contrast ratio.
The KRF-9000FD projector uses LCOS technology to create a full 1080p image up to 200 inches in size and sports a couple of HDMI inputs, and cinematic perfectionists will be overjoyed it supports advanced calibration. It’s going to be out later this month, but Pioneer is keeping schtum on the price.
