Deals, deals, deals. Sony has just announced plans which it hopes will revive both PlayStation 3 and PSP sales. Starting today, the PS3 160GB model will be discounted to £249 and the 250GB model will be £299 — a savings of £49. Also, a new Wi-Fi-less PSP, dubbed the E-1000, will be sold exclusive in Europe for £99. Now that Nintendo and Sony have issues price cuts, will Microsoft follow suit with its Xbox 360?

If you were hoping to get in on the Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer beta kicking off next month we hope you own a PlayStation 3. The game’s creator, Ubisoft, has just come forward to confirm the multiplayer beta will be a PS3 exclusive. The beta will available first to PlayStation Plus and Uplay members between September 3rd and 8th followed by all PS3 owners on September 9th.
Hints of “PSN Pass” have been spotted on the German Resistance 3 bundle, leading to speculation that Sony will launch its new online initiative later this year. With a disclaimer that says, “PSN pass network features only available in countries that have PlayStation Store,” the service is all but confirmed. Will the PSN Pass kill off the second-hand game market for future PlayStation 3 titles?
Sony is making a big push to bring 3D gaming to the masses with two new accessories, a 24-inch 3D monitor and new 3D glasses. The 24-inch display will be sold bundled with a pair of 3D glasses, Resistance 3, and a 6-foot HDMI cable for $499. Meanwhile, the 3D glasses may be purchased separately for $69.99/each.
The third installment in the Uncharted franchise, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, kicked off the Sony E3 2011 press conference this evening. After watching an extended trailer and nearly five minutes of live game play, the goods were dealt. On June 20th the multiplayer beta goes live, but a new partnership between Sony and Subways looks to be the icing on the cake.
