This is creative product naming at its finest. LG’s just dished up details of its “Digital Photo TV”. It’s either the world’s largest digital photo frame, or the silliest name possible for a telly.
Of course, there’s a bit of logic in marketing its photo-displaying capabilities. Where most TVs tend to save on power by turning the screen off when you don’t want to watch it, you can now grab a screenshot from your favourite show and have it displayed on standby instead.
We’ve had the Apple Cinema Display on the desk for a day now, and we’ve spent a good 23 hours of the time since then staring at it. Just gawping at it. We thought we’d finally got a glimpse of the 3G iPhone, but eagle-eyed Mac fans now claim it’s another filthy fake. Looks like we’re back on for a surprise unveiling tonight after all.
