Today saw the launch of Adobe’s new Photoshop iPad apps – yup, not one, but three new programs that harness the power of a multitouch screen along with your existing PC’s processing horsepower. While each is worthy of note on its own, taken as a whole they serve to underline an even bigger shift in computing: tablets aren’t going to kill your PC, they’re going to kill your mouse.

While Photoshop Express has been on the iPad for a while, the arrival of the iPad 2 seems to have moved along plans at Adobe to get a fully-featured iPad Photoshop app out.
It demoed the iPad Photoshop app during the Photoshop World 2011 keynote with lots of cool looking interactions and layer animations on show. You can see part of the demo, filmed by PhotographyBay, after the break. There’s no release date or pricing for the iPad Photoshop app just yet sadly.
Someone at Apple HQ is in for a telling off, as images of the new iPod touch have been Photoshopped leaving the phone and iPod icons intact, presumably a bad job using an iPod touch body and a screen copied from the iPhone.
Photoshop has already found its way to the iPhone with Photoshop.com Mobile but now Photoshop 1.0, the very first version of the editing software, has been squeezed into a pocket version.
