Eye-Fi’s range of wifi-enabled SD cards are a useful (if pricey) way of connecting a digital camera or ‘dumb’ phone camera to the internet or home LAN. Now the company is launching an iPhone app that will do the same thing, without the card.
Anyone wanting to use their mobile as a camera for anything other than Xmas party snaps will quickly learn that – megapixels aside – the lens is often the weak link. This has led to some fairly ridiculous looking solutions that do little to improve portability.
