The Pentax K-01 is the latest mirrorless interchangeable lens camera to break cover – and if offerings from Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, Samsung et al leave you cold, its achingly retro-modern looks may stir a fire in your belly. The K-01, you see, comes fresh from the drawing board of famed designer Marc Newson, who has stuff on display at New York’s Museum of Modern Art and everything.
The Pentax Q has emerged from the labs with its makers claiming its the smallest interchangeable lens camera yet. That would mean it’s stolen the crown from the Panasonic Lumix GF3 which was outed less than two weeks ago. But Pentax hasn’t given us details on the Q’s size and weight yet so the jury’s still out.
The retro-looking snapper achieves its slight size by ditching an optical viewfinder, mirror box, focusing plate and autofocus sensor. Those components are what add to the size of a common-or-garden DSLR but losing does lead to some compromises. Still, the Pentax Q has plenty of other tricks to deploy…

Pentax is looking to provide style conscious photographers with the ultimate level of customization on the new Optio RS1500. As the latest entry to the Chameleon camera range, the RS1500 features a new screw-less design that lets you add your favorite image to the camera and clip the protective layer on top to create your own unique look.
Keep your eyes peeled for a limited edition silver Pentax K5, which should be arriving around April this year. The silver Pentax K5 has a new reinforced glass cover over the LCD, which is said to be shock-resistant and scratchproof, and a reprofiled handgrip. Other than this it’s exactly the same as the original Pentax K5, and will ship with Pentax K5 v1.02 firmware.
