Alienware‘s not the only company capable of turning out gaming laptops to rival beige boxes for power: Packard Bell’s doing it too, and its latest iPower GX looks likely to make a few converts when it drops in January.
Shock, horror and awe: We’ve just come across a machine that’s actually capable of running Crysis at playable frame rates. It’s Packard Bell’s iPower X2.0 desktop, and it’s one of the most powerful gaming rigs we’ve ever seen. While the machine’s been cropping up at games championships over the last six months, we’ve just found out it’ll be available to Joe Public in the new year.
Since Packard Bell has been pretty much the only electronics company in the world ever not to release a netbook yet, it’s hardly surprising that one is in the works. We caught a glimpse of Bell’s “dot” PC at a showcase last night – see the hands on pics inside.
