Oh Exynos, our paths cross again. After learning Samsung’s dual-core Orion processor would be called Exynos in February, we’ve received word Samsung has some serious plans for Exynos in the speed department. Cnet is reporting the company will offer a dual-core 2GHz Exynos by early next year. It might be time to start making our CES 2012 travel arrangements, don’t you think?

Good luck pronouncing it, but Samsung has just issued a press release, outing their dual-core processor — Exynos, set to replace their Hummingbird processors. Formerly known only by the code name Orion, these application processors will play an integral roll in Samsung’s flagship handsets, competing directly with Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon range.
