Orange unveils an intriguing Glastonbury concept every year and this one’s a doozy: the Orange Sound Charge t-shirt, a gadget-friendly garment that will charge your tech with sound. It’s exactly the kind of combination of barmy and brilliant we love.

As promised, the super phone that’s actually a laptop trapped inside a phone is now available on T-Mobile. With the carrier’s other half (Orange) ending its exclusivity period, the dual-core Motorola Atrix can be had for free on 24-month contracts of £35.75 or more per month. If long-term commitments are not your thing, you can take the Atrix home for £50 to £350 with a short or no-term stints.
Orange has beaten the pack to become the first UK network to offer a contactless payment service built into a mobile.
To use the service, you’ll need either a Barclays debit card or an Orange Credit card both of which already feature contactless payment. But with QuickTap, you can wander out for lunch without cash and just swipe your smartphone instead…
Yesterday RIM went on a press release rampage, announcing the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 along with a host of other software-centric updates. Today, two UK operators have stepped up to the plate, confirming they’ll land their own BlackBerry Bold 9900s. Both Vodafone and Three are signed up for RIM’s latest flagship, but don’t be surprised if Orange and T-mobile also join in the fun.

The merger of Orange and T-mobile UK, better known as Everything Everywhere, has managed to post respectable figures for the first quarter of 2011. The combined forces managed to keep mobile service revenue on track, keeping in line with the 1.6 percent year-over-year growth by adding 160,000 new customers and reducing churn from 1.5 to 1.3 percent.
The Motorola Atrix, the dual-core Android phone that stole the show at CES back in January, has finally been blessed with UK launch details, including price and availability. As expected, it’s an Orange exclusive, and the novel laptop dock will be making a cameo on store shelves too – will this be the phone to take on the mighty Samsung Galaxy S 2 next month?
