HTC is reacting to high demand for large screen smartphones by moving into Super LCD (SLCD) displays. For now, it’s just the HTC Desire and Nexus One that will be switching up to SLCD, but it looks like there will be more to come.

We’ve just hot-footed it from LG’s booth at IFA where, after gawping at their luscious OLED TVs we heard there are plans afoot for plenty more OLED gadgets in the coming months. Top of the list seems to be a new type of monitor, specifically designed to be taken out of the house and used on the go with a laptop.
Toshiba Blu-ray
Toshiba has already feasted on humble pie this summer, joining the Blu–ray disc association and admitting to plans for a Toshiba Blu–ray player this year. IFA will doubtless see it make its debut, doubtless with a price to make competitors sweat.
