Samsung Galaxy W headed to O2 UK

The Samsung Galaxy W was one of the more low key announcements at IFA 2011 in Berlin this month, but  it is one of those, thankfully, Apple hasn’t had banned. The littler Samsung Galaxy S is on the way to the UK this month, with both Three and now O2 listing it as coming soon.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy W is a 3.7-inch smartphone running Android 2.3. Its size and Super LCD (Rather than superior Super AMOLED Plus) make it a rival to the rather swanky HTC Desire S, though without the same aluminium chassis, it might come in at a lower price at the till.

It’s official BlackBerry PlayBook UK launch day but if you’re on O2, you’re out of luck. The network has decided to ditch RIM’s first tablet and is emailing customers who expressed an interest in buying one to explain why it has had a change of heart.
