Nikon has outed a brand new DSLR and boy it’s got some interesting features. The Nikon D5100 has the usual stuff you’d expect (a 16.2MP sensor, a rotating LCD screen and 1080p video recording) but there’s some surprises in the specs list.

Nikon Coolpix S9100 review Nikon Coolpix S9100 review

Nikon Coolpix S9100 review

The Nikon Coolpix S9100 is Nikon’s latest compact camera. It’s aimed squarely at the consumer arena, and after plenty of DSLRs of late and a “prosumer” compact from the imaging giant, that’s a good thing. A lot of similar cameras in this target market try to be all things to all men. By packing in supposedly ‘pro’ functionality, most of these competitors muddy what a good point and shoot should be – fun, and easy to use.

In this Nikon Coolpix S9100 review, we”ll take a look at the highs and lows of this great little camera.

Nikon D4: first Thunderbolt DSLR?

The Nikon D4 could join the new Macbook Pro models with Thunderbolt-support if a tasty rumour is true. Talk of Light Peak support in the Nikon D4 has been rattling around for a while but it came tied to the promise of Light Peak-enabled computers first.

Now the Macbook Pro comes packing Thunderbolt, it seems eminently possible that the Nikon D4 rumour will come to fruition to make it the first Thunderbolt DSLR. For folk shooting tonnes of HD video, a Thunderbolt-packing DSLR would be a dream. Let’s hope we get it!
