Nikon D4: first Thunderbolt DSLR?

The Nikon D4 could join the new Macbook Pro models with Thunderbolt-support if a tasty rumour is true. Talk of Light Peak support in the Nikon D4 has been rattling around for a while but it came tied to the promise of Light Peak-enabled computers first.

Now the Macbook Pro comes packing Thunderbolt, it seems eminently possible that the Nikon D4 rumour will come to fruition to make it the first Thunderbolt DSLR. For folk shooting tonnes of HD video, a Thunderbolt-packing DSLR would be a dream. Let’s hope we get it!

The new Macbook Pro is in production and set for launch in early March according to new reports. AppleInsider claims Apple will introduce new Macbook Pro models next month. The Macbook Pro refresh was reportedly delayed by the well-publicised design issues with the new Intel Sandy Bridge processors.

The most common prediction for the new Macbook Pro models is that we’ll see a slightly redesigned outer shell to go with the new processor. It’s widely thought that the Macbook Air will act as a template for future Macbook Pro models. We’ll keep our eyes pointed at the Apple Store but in the meantime let us know: what features do you want to see included in a new Macbook Pro?
