OK, so Mac owners and anyone who’d rather go with Chrome won’t be able to get on board with MSN Music’s free music streaming service, but for everyone else, it’s shaping up to be an interesting new take on the free, full length song chucking experience online. We’re in on the beta, so we thought we’d give you a first look – read on for the preview.
MSN Music quietly slipped in free, browser based music streaming yesterday along with the restored download service. While it’s still in closed beta, we’ve been testing it out, but there’s a wee little problem. It may run in your browser, but only if it’s Internet Explorer, or Firefox. And on a PC. Sorry guys, MSN says no Macs allowed!
We heard rumours of an MSN Music streaming and downloading service back in the Summer, but now it’s official. Microsoft is making a two-pronged attack on the current web music players, serving up a download to own service, as well as music streaming through the browser, just like Sky Songs. Oh, and the latter is free.
