The new YouTube movie site is crammed full of classic video nasties, 1950s The Thing-type horror and comedies so badly scripted you’d be fooled into thinking they’re trying to get all meta. A quick (and thoroughly unscientific) straw poll of YouTube movies reveals that three in five films feature babes in cheerleader outfits getting slaughtered in a variety of unsavoury ways.
We’ve had a trawl through the new YouTube site, and picked out five of the best worst films the movies site has to offer. So get the beers in, shake off the post-bank holiday blues and kick back in your pants for the evening with affectionate serial killers, nuclear powered zombies and nudist politicians, courtesy YouTube movies.

The Youtube Store that was first spotted in a limited trial back in January has open its virtual doors though Youtube has been conspicuously quiet about it. Currently the Youtube Store is mainly independent flicks and a big mass of Manga. YouTube was reportedly in talks with movie studios back in September 2009 but it seems as if the major studios haven’t come on board yet…

Netflix has been an ace in up Microsoft’s sleeve since November, eclipsing Sony’s rival video download service with the huge library of Netflix streaming titles, but it could be about to lose that particular position if Netflix and Nintendo cosy up. The movie rental service has been sending round a survey asking Wii owners if they’d consider paying a one off, $10 fee to get movie streaming direct to their console.
