In its current state, the three arms allow for an incredible range of motion. One possible application would be to replace the joystick or directional pad used in tradition toy claw machines. It would certainly make grabbing that prize a heck of a lot easier.

Exclusive: Forza Motorsport 4 will be the first game in the series to sport motion controls. Microsoft Kinect will let players steer cars with just their bare hands, explore cars like never before and track head movements when playing. Topshop has set up an augmented reality fitting room in its Moscow flagship store using Kinect to let shoppers try on clothes without needing to shuck off their current outfit in a small, sweaty fitting room.

The Kinect camera recognises when a person is standing in front of it and superimposes 3D models of the clothes they’re interested in. You switch between outfits with simple Kinect gestures. The 3D fitting isn’t perfect yet but we’d still love to see a version of this AR fitting room hit UK stores. Take a look for yourself after the jump…
