A new Metal Gear game is in development, according to a job advert placed by Konami in Japan. Possibly the least surprising news that we’ve ever heard – considering the success of the stealth/action series. But let the speculation as to where Snake (or not?) goes next begin.

It helped sell hundreds of thousands of PS3s. And now, Yoshitaka Arai of Konami has admitted, in an interview with Japanese newswire Morningstar, that the company is “currently looking into” doing a port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console.

The recent release of the stealth-laden sneak ‘em up has given PlayStation 3 sales a major shot in the arm Stateside, with shoppers bagging 405,000 Sony consoles in June, as opposed to 208,700 in May. That’s a boost of 94 percent – and MGS4 was also the best-selling game in the US that month.

Metal Gear Solid fans will be delighted to know the first batch of downloadable content can now be zapped straight to PS3′s today, coming in the form of an MGS database with all sorts of cool trivia fr fans to sink their teeth into.
To absolutely nobody’s surprise, Metal Gear Solid 4 has stealthily climbed its way to the top of the UK gaming charts. It’s the second fastest selling PS3 game of all time, only surpassed by the unstoppable GTA 4.
An all-new PlayStation 3 bundle has just popped up on the US SonyStyle online store – an 80GB model complete with a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and a DualShock 3 wireless controller. Costing $499 (£250), it’s going live in June.
The gaming world is going a bit nuts over the upcoming PS3 title Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and the latest piece of MGS-branded kit to appear on the radar is a Bluetooth headset. Suitably futuristic and Metal Gear-looking, the headset is primarily designed for use with the PS3, but would also work with a mobile phone if required. Whether you’d want to actually walk (sneak?) around wearing one is another matter entirely…
