Nokia was quick out of the blocks to deny rumours that Maemo was set to replace its creaking Symbian OS. But a new screenshot of Maemo 5 in action shows Nokia is going to have to work hard to quell demands for this new OS to appear on all its smartphones.

Nokia has come fast out of the blocks today to crush chatter that it’s ditching Symbian in favour of newbie OS, Maemo. Yesterday a Nokia source was caught slating Symbian for being “too cumbersome” and not up to the job of battling with Apple and Google Android.
