The promised BlackBerry renaissance may be on hold. RIM has admitted that the first BlackBerry 10 handset is still a year away, pushing the release of the first dual-core to late 2012.

Africa to get 4G before UK

The first 4G LTE networks are live in America, and phone obsessives over on our side of the pond have been ogling them with envy while we amble along with patchy 3G. We’re next, surely? Nope: according to Ericsson, countries in southern Africa could see the first commercial 4G networks as soon as next year.

Those happy-go-lucky jokers LulzSec seem to have called it a day on the hacking front, at least until the heat has died down a bit. Before they crawled back under whatever it was they crawled out from, however, the LulzSec crew may have left us all a little gift.

Among the last payload of hacked documents and vandalism LulzSec released before shutting down was a cache of stolen AT&T internal documents. These appear to have spec details of both the iPhone 5 and the iPad 3.

Motorola Droid Bionic lives on, promises to launch this summer with ‘some new updates’It’s been six months since the Droid Bionic graced the CES showroom floor in Las Vegas. In that time we managed to get a hands-on of the device and pair it against its rival, the Motorola Atrix. In the months that passed the Atrix saw its launch and rather luke-warm reception while the Droid Bionic quietly sat out the first half of 2011.

Internally Motorola scraped its original design and decided that it needed to reinvent the phone, presumably to live up to its superhuman name. Meanwhile the qHD 4.3-inch display, Tegra 2 processor, 8-megapixel camera (vga front-facing), and 4G LTE connectivity remain unscathed.
