UPDATE: It looks like LG’s definition of Europe is different to ours, as a company spokesperson has announced that the LG Optimus 3D Max won’t be coming to the UK, just the rest of the continent. Repeat: The LG Optimus 3D Max will NOT be coming to the UK.

If the rumours are to be believed, South Korean manufacturer LG is absolutely desperate to get the contract to produce the next Google Nexus device – as are several other notable firms, we would imagine. It’s not as outlandish an aspiration as you might imagine; according to ComScore’s latest figures, published today, LG is still the second-largest mobile vendor in the US, which could lend weight to the company’s claim.

However, Google’s decision is naturally going to taken into account prior products, and if the leaked LG Lucid is anything to go by, LG’s chances might be somewhat slim.
