We’ve just confirmed that Last.fm‘s Friend Finder service, which scours your Facebook friends and email contacts to match them with Last.fm users, is now in beta for subscribers. A public release for all users is expected “soon”, a Last.fm developer tells us. If you’re a paid up user, you can test it out at last.fm/findfriends and let us know how you get on.

Apple TV browser hack outed!

The new Apple TV hasn’t got apps yet as such but it does not how a new browser option. The FireCore aTV Flash (black) browser is an Apple TV hack which has been outed in beta. It’ll work with the new Apple TV running the iOS-based 4.0 software. As well as an HTML5-compatible browser, it packs a Last.fm app. We’re promised expanded format support and networked storage smarts in a future update. The Apple TV browser hack will set you back $20 on preorder, jumping up to $30 for the final version.

Kinect Last.fm app out tomorrow

Microsoft says Kinect isn’t just for games and the Kinect Last.fm app is arriving tomorrow to prove that. Electricpig’s sources inside Last.fm HQ sa its been playing with the motion sensing kit “for months” but the company didn’t build the Last.fm Kinect app. That was all down to the brains at Microsoft with Last.fm acting as UI consultants. We’ll get our hands on the app and give you the rundown on it as soon as we can.
