William Shatner’s Google+ account was suspended on Monday for reasons Google has declined to revealed. Luckily, the Star Trek star has since rematerialised on the site again after speculating on Twitter that it was his habit of saying “hello” to every new follower that got his page vaporised. He posted a Google+ update saying: “I am back plusers. I still do not know what happened but I will refrain from saying hello again for a while just in case. My best, Bill.”

Continuing its taste for commercials that kind of don’t make much sense, Google has co-opted Lady Gaga for its latest Google Chrome ad.

The Lady Gaga Google Chrome video, which you can take a peek at after the break, features the singer communicating with her “little monsters” in a variety of different ways using Google products.

Britney Spears has clearly decided to hold Sony close in her latest promo. The Hold It Against Me video is absolutely stuffed with Sony promotion. Besides the usual Britney tropes of her in her pants and an army of male dancers gyrating around her there’s Sony TVs galore and even brief flashes of Sony’s logo that seem like slackly done subliminal messages.
