Sega and Capcom are turning sales of several of their iPhone games to support the Japanese Red Cross in its relief efforts following the tsunami and during the ongoing nuclear effort in Japan. The games included in the sale from which Sega will donate 100% of its profits include every Sonic The Hedgehog title (so Sonic The Hedgehog Episode 4 and my favourite Sonic The Hedgehog 2 are in there). Meanwhile Capcom is donating profits from Streetfighter IV. Sega says it will donate all revenues from those games until March 22. Good on you guys!

As news continues to come in about the true scale of the Earthquake which hit Japan last week, several games developers have announced that they will be postponing or cancelling some of their new releases out of respect for the tragedy.

UPDATE: Whoops! It seems Motorola’s set top box won’t be running Android after all, but the KreaTV platform based on Linux.
