It’s not often that you get to see a urban legend coming into being in real time but hop onto Twitter today and you’re likely to come across an entertaining missive purporting to be a four-letter word bolstered brush off written by Sean Connery to Steve Jobs. The story goes that Jobs wanted the Bond actor to feature in an ad but it’s just that…a story.

The fake letter was put together by Apple satire site Scoopertino but shorn of its context it’s floating around on TwitPic and being reported as a genuine article. You’d think the brutal line “you are a computer salesman and I am f*cking James Bond” might have tipped more people off.

If you’ve spent years idlely dreaming of Superman-style powers of flight or James Bond gadgetry, the Jetlev Flyer could be a dream come true…assuming you have £110,000 to spend. The creation of Canadian engineer Raymond Li, the water-powered machine hovers at up to 30m in the air and can hit speeds of 22mph as you move across the water.

The Jetlev Flyer jetpack is attached to a 10m hose and an engine which also acts as a flotation device. The hose gobbles up water and send it to two nozzles on the user’s back, keeping them aloft. Activision and Atari have gone on a splurge, announcing a slew of new games due for arrival 2009 and beyond. In the pipe are an Infinity Ward-developed sequel to their award-winning Call Of Duty high-point Modern Warfare, more Dungeons & Dragons games including a sequel to Baldur’s Gate and a Tony Hawk you won’t play “with a controller in your hands”, according to an Activision rep.
