The iPad App Store app has had a nice little tweak. Search for apps from your iPad now and you’ll be able to use five new filters (category, release date, rating, price and device). There’s also a button to clear all filters.

The change hasn’t appeared in the iPhone or iPod touch versions of the App Store app so it looks like the new filters are just for folk with the extra screen space provided by the iPad. Fire up the app now to check them out.

MonkeyLabour

Sometimes we find an iPhone game which deserves its own post outside of our best iPhone apps roundup. Monkey Labour is one of those. The lovingly create iPhone game recreates old school Donkey Kong retro Game And Watch style gameplay with an onscreen controller, an instructions screen that mimics an old paper manual and other game controls round the back of the virtual controller. The gameplay is simple but brilliant fun: the monkey throws barrels at the robot, the robot dodges them and attempts to burn the monkey’s arse. Monkey Labour may well be our favourite new iPhone game. Check it out now in the iTunes App Store.

The Amazon Android app store is on the way imminently and more details have emerged thanks to a new developer hub and some big-mouthed insiders chatting to Techcrunch.
