The next-generation HTC flagship for Android users has been well publicized as the HTC Pyramid. While still short of an official announcement, HTC’s upcoming press event should be the platform of choice to make the news official. As we anxiously await the event, fresh news has surfaced at xda-developers which suggests the Pyramid will be called the HTC Sensation when it hits the UK this year.
The HTC Pyramid has been pretty extensively leaked (see “HTC Pyramid pictures) and we had an HTC event invite yesterday for a shindig on April 14. Now French Android site, FrAndroid, has discovered an image of an ad for French carrier SFR which suggests the HTC Pyramid will be with out Gallic chums in May. That would make sense for a UK release date too with the April 14 event outing the HTC Pyramid before its arrival. Fingers-crossed Android fans.

Oh how we’d love to get our hands on the confirmed, yet still quite unofficial, HTC Pyramid. A sibling to the HTC EVO 3D recently announced, minus the 3D display of course, is always a friend of mine. Thanks to the folks over at xda-developers we are pleased to bring you the latest images of the next-generation HTC flagship for GSM operators.
The smartphone gods are looking down on us this fine Wednesday morning. In today’s US Update we start off with the new king of Android smartphones, the HTC EVO 3D. Then we take a look at the upcoming SlingLoaded HDS-600RS for EchoStar Europe and some strange happenings with the Amazon Appstore and Angry Birds Rio. Ready, set, go.
Alert the hounds, a new Android powerhouse is on the prowl. Destined for Sprint in the US, the HTC EVO 3D is shaping up to the Android handset to beat, at least on paper. Equipped with a 4.3-inch qHD 3D “glasses-free” display, 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, we are looking at the future of Android smartphones.
Yet another reason to look forward to Mobile World Congress: it could see the unveiling of the HTC Pyramid, HTC’s first dual-core Android phone. As well as its 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU, the HTC Pyramid will reportedly tote a 4.3-inch screen and hit the US in May 2011.
