The HTC Desire 2 does officially exist yet over the weekend the follow up to the incredibly popular HTC Desire popped up in someone’s hand and in the inventory of Vodafone Germany. So that’ll be launching at Mobile world Congress then. The screen of the leaked HTC Desire 2 is reportedly a Super AMOLED panel and the phone is packing Android 2.3.1.

The Samsung Galaxy 2 we told you about yesterday is already being fondled by future phone seekers. The Samsung Galaxy S successor has got into the clutches of phone-obsessive Eldar Murtazin. He supports claims yesterday that the Samsung Galaxy 2 has a dual-core processor, a Super-AMOLED display and is due to arrive in Q1 2011. It’s also suggested that the Samsung Galaxy 2 will be the Samsung-branded version of the Google Nexus S following the precedent set by HTC with the Google Nexus One and HTC Desire. We asked you, the people on the ground with these smartphones in your hand, what you thought was the best Android phone out there. The winner, by a surprisingly large proportion, was the HTC Desire.
Finally, after a long wait, some HTC Desire owners on T-Mobile are getting their Android Froyo update. The update will be rolling out to users over the coming weeks, and was released on Saturday. However, some users are reporting there’s a glitch in the update, and some of the apps are appearing in German.

Orange customers hoping for the HTC Desire Froyo update are going to have to wait a little longer than previously thought. Over on Twitter, the firm’s PR man Conor Maples has reported that HTC has delayed the update.
