The Electrolux Design Lab asks for concepts to improve our future domestic lives. Because the entries don’t have to be based on anything approaching workable science, the finalists often have some pretty out-there ideas about our kitchens of the future. We love De’Longhi’s hilariously over-designed breakfast gadgets, but the Argento toaster –the one that looks like a prop from a 50s sci-fi B-movie – is a fond favourite. It even has dual toasting controls for your co-pilot.
