The Sony PSP2 is on the way, and due to launch possibly by autumn 2009, according to Dave Perry, founder of Shiny Entertainment and current Chief Creative Officer at Acclaim. And it won’t have a “stupid battery-sucking UMD disc drive”.
Rumours of the new Sony PSP 4000 have begun to surface, before the PSP 3000. If the “highly-trusted source” one site is quoting is to be believed, the Sony PSP 4000 will launch in late 2009 and isn’t a totally new PSP2 hardware platform. Instead it’s a radical redesign of the existing PSP.
It may well be a blogger’s new best friend, but a new survey of Japanese gamers has found that less that four per cent of them were planning to buy Nintendo’s new DSi handheld console redesign any time soon. Over 40 per cent said they were not going to buy the DSi at any time.
