Bungie has clarified some of the grey areas surrounding the new Halo 3 DLC, specifically relating to the new Halo 3: ODST standalone expansion pack. Halo 3: ODST will come with ALL of the Halo 3 DLC – Heroic, Legendary and the upcoming Mythic map packs – when it launches this autumn.
People are always banging on about the games industry being as big as Hollywood, and the 29th April launch of Grand Theft Auto IV looks set to be the clearest ever indicator of that. Variety magazine is predicting that GTA IV will pull in a massive $400m (£200m) worth of sales in its first week, which would make it the biggest game launch in history – and possibly the biggest ever launch for a single entertainment product.
Halo 3 may no longer be the most popular game on Xbox LIVE (that honour goes to Call of Duty 4), but Microsoft and Bungie have just injected its multiplayer portion with new life, courtesy of a trio of new maps. The Legendary Map Pack is available for download now for 800 Microsoft Points (that’s £6.80 in real life money), and should give you a few more hours of fragging – or if your Master Chief-controlling skills are anything like ours, getting fragged by – foul-mouthed American teenagers.
