Google Music, the long awaited music service for streaming tunes to your Android phone has arrived, but only for Yanks. Head on over to music.google.com right now and you’ll see a polite message telling you to jog, but if you’re in the US, you’ll be able to sign up for a beta. US Motorola Xoom owners on Verizon will also be the first to get a crack at the service, which lets you store up to 20,000 songs in the cloud, and stream them anywhere.

Oh well – at least we have Spotify eh?

Amazon outed Amazon Cloud Drive and Amazon Cloud Player overnight, bringing cloud music streaming and storage to Amazon users way ahead of an iTunes Cloud service or Google Music.

There’s no word on a UK version of Amazon Cloud Drive but the US system looks intriguing. The new Amazon Cloud Player adds a “Save to Amazon Cloud Drive” button for saving MP3s and gives you the option to throw music from your hard drive up into the cloud.

Sure Google Music has been on the cards for a couple of years but new reports says Google has begun internal testing and is gunning to get the streaming service out to consumers before Apple can out any iTunes cloud service.

Earlier this month, a member of the XDA Developers forum claim to have discovered Google Music lurking within Android Honeycomb and it looks like they were telling the truth.

It seems Android Honeycomb will bring Google’s iTunes-fighting Google Music service along with it. The plan was spilled by Motorola’s Sanjay Jha during his presentation covering the Motorola Xoom at MWC 2011. He says: “If you look at Google Mobile services [via Android] today, there’s a video service, there’s a music service – that is, there will be a music service.” Wonder how happy Google will be that he said that…
