The Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta opens next week for folk who also own Bulletstorm: Epic Edition. If you’re packing that game you’ll get in on April 18. If you’ve simply pre-ordered Gears of War, you’ll be able to hop into the beta fray on April 25.

The Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta will run until May 15 before the digital doors shut again. Gears of War 3 will hit the shops properly on September 20. Hurrah!

Microsoft to unveil Gears of War Kinect and Windows Kinect SDK at GDC?In the world of Xbox 360 shooters there’s Gears of War and then there’s everything else. Some may argue that Halo is the superior shooter, but fans of Quake, Duke Nukem and Doom, know all too well that Gears is where the action’s at. At next week’s Game Developer Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, the Redmond camp is expected to unveil Gears of War Kinect and possibly a Windows 7 Kinect SDK.

A Gears of War Kinect title is definitely in the works according to a report from Kotaku. The Gawker gaming site claims sources close to the Gears of War Kinect project say it’s definitely on the cards and is a rails shooter. The game was apparently planned for a reveal during the Spike TV Video Game Awards last year but was pulled at the last minute.

The report also notes that Epic Games grabbed a new trademark, Gears of War: Exile, recently which could point to the plans for a Gears of War Kinect title. Let us know: would you be interested in Gears of War Kinect if it was restricted to rails?
